An Aer Lingus commuter plane had a close call when battling strong crosswinds at Cork Airport. This video shows the battle the pilot had to land safely.
The plane was buffeted by sidewinds as it approached the runway. As you can see in the video it was just metres above the ground when a strong burst pushed it sideways, the skill of the pilot saving the situation.
As anyone who has flown into it know, Cork Airport is but on top of a hill and is regularly battered by winds and rain or enclosed in fog. This is not the first crosswind battle pilots have had as this series of videos shows.
Still these are not as bad as some other airports…
