Last week Condé Nast named Dublin the friendliest city in Europe. Now Travel + Leisure has gone farther and said that 3 of the four friendliest cities in the world are Irish.
The magazine conducts annual “Best Of” surveys in annumber of categories and in the “Friendliest City” only Charleston, South Carolina prevented Ireland from a clean sweep.
The top 5 were
- Siem Reap
Of the Irish cities the magazines said the following;
verdant hills bloom with wildflowers, rivers run through ruins, and courteous locals welcome visitors with open arms
confident, cosmopolitan, and gregarious nature
The hospitality and the humor of Ireland’s people makes it a perfect destination.
Of Galway in particular the magazine mentioned the music in the city;
*Fiddlers and banjo-players, flautists and whistlers bang out traditional Irish reels on pedestrian streets and in all the pubs
This is just the most recent topping of charts for the Irish. Recent wins include;
