90,000 puppies are born in Ireland every year. This charity helped save 481 of them last year.

Dogs Trust runs an animal shelter that helps abandoned dogs, many of them puppies or pregnant. Many of the puppies were born in the shelter to those abandoned mothers.

Many of the dogs are nervous around people as a result of their experience. The shelter helps them become comfortable again before they find new homes for them.
