How to Land an Irish Farmer on Facebook

If you’re interested in landing an Irish farmer then look no further than the Irish Farmers Daughters Blog. This new Facebook page not only highlights the best Irish farmers but also gives a light-hearted overview of life on an Irish farm.

The page was set up by three Irish Farmers Daughters from Meath, The three college students — Carol Lawless, Rachel Daly, and Shannon Kelly-Smith – are all from farming backgrounds. They decided to set up the Facebook page after they were astonished at the lack of knowledge Dubliners had about farming and farmers.

As Carol told the Irish Examiner; “I actually convinced a Dublin girl that there was no electricity in my house and we had to milk the cow every morning to have milk for breakfast cereal.”

The three students who are all 21, decided to “came up with the idea for a page to give tips on how to get a good farmer and the page just spiralled since we set it up in January. We had 4,000 fans in just three days. We can’t get over how nominations are pouring into the page for the ‘Farmer of the Day’ title.”

The Farmer of the Day is a particularly popular item on an already popular page and it is still taking nominations.
